NEW TIMBER WINDOWS AND DOORS

Multi laminated timber used in our frames.

Traditionally we have refused to get involved in the Timber window market due to the cheap, poor quality products and short guarantees generally associated with these products. Wooden windows from about the 1960`s onwards have been manufactured from 60 to 70mm deep, one piece timber frames, usually built down to a builders budget. Because it was a single piece of non laminated wood it was very common for these frames to warp, making it very difficult to close and extremely draughty, particularly as most of these windows made do without any sort of weatherseal. The onset of double glazing meant that very narrow double glazed units were fitted to these windows, that were not designed for them, causing a problem with the glass units "breaking down" and misting up.

However, after years of searching, we have found an innovative timber window and door system that we are proud to be associated with. Instead of single timber pieces, our wooden windows are manufactured in the UK in a state of the art factory using 95mm deep multi layered laminated timber sections as shown in the above picture, meaning they are much more resistant to warping and twisting.

These windows use multi point security locking systems and double weatherseal gaskets, both commonly found on Upvc windows.

With the high insulation double glazed units fitted as standard, these new timber windows give you the durability and insulation commonly associated with Upvc, but with the beauty of timber.
